While blaming the president-elects appointments of people associated with the white nationalist alt-right motion, Kaiser said, If you dont want support of the alt right, dont select as a White House counselor a human who used the word nigger, whose spouse says he did not want his daughters to go to a school with too many Jews
The look on their faces said it all, as the shock and weight of the word could be felt through the screen.
It was thenBaldwin interrupted Kaiser, saying, Charles, hold on a second. I appreciate you going through all of this, but please dont use the n-word on my show.
Kaiser promptly tried to explain why he chose to use that word.
Im sorry, Kaiser reacted. I never use the n-word except when Im quoting someone who has been appointed by the president to serve in the Oval Office, since this is such a disgusting moment in our history.
At the end of the segment, Baldwin, who appeared upset and close to tears, reprimanded Kaiser, saying, The more Ive sat here and listened to the fact that somebody employed the n-word on this show It is not okay.
Charles Kaiser, I respect you, I enjoy having you on as a guest, butnot okay.
She later took to Twitter to condemn the moment again:
While many agreed with her online, others thought it was acceptable to use that word in that context.
Regardless, it certainly got a response.
